Ethics in the digital workplace

Owners PepsiCo have confirmed that they will close the Walkers crisp factory in Peterlee, county Durham. The decision will lead to 355 job losses, which are expected to take effect by the end of 2017. The decision was taken to improve efficiency and means that manufacture of the company's well known brands will be moved to other sites within the UK. It is also being reported that 25 HGV drivers employed by PepsiCo subsidiary, PRDC Transport, are undergoing a consultation with their jobs also likely to be lost.
