Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German multinational logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel started to build the biggest distribution centre in Europe for pharmaceutical products (36,000 square metres of warehouse area) in the immediate vicinity of airport Brnik (Gorenjska region) and will employ more than 200 new workers. The distribution centre will primarily serve the needs of the pharmaceutical company Lek, a member of Novartis group. Investment will amount to €50 million and will be finished by the end of May 2018. Kuehne + Nagel appointed Invest4SEE, which has built several similar logistics centres in the East Europe, to carry out the investment.
