Ikea, the world's largest retailer of ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories will open a new shop in Ljubljana (Osrednjeslovenska region) in 2018 in which 300 new employees will be hired. The Municipality of Ljubljana and Ikea signed the Memorandum of Agreement in relation to the construction of Ikea store in Ljubljana already in 2014. The investment amounts to €90 million. Ljubljana’s IKEA store, located in the commercial centre BTC, will encompass 35,000 square metres.
