Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Furniture and home accessories chain Lesnina XXXL Hrvatska has announced the creation of between 120 and 130 new jobs at the Lesnina shopping centre in Vodnjan. In addition to the 120-130 positions, external positions in assembly, delivery, cleaning etc. will also be created as a result of the investment. Construction of the shopping centre started in May 2017 with the opening scheduled for February 2018. However, the recruitment process has already been initiated because the firm invests heavily in employee training. The shopping centre, worth €20 million, is a major investment in the town of Vodnjan. In the first phase of construction, 22,000 square metres of warehouses are going to be built, while the sales space itself will take up an area of about 12,000 square metres.
