The supermarket chain Kiwi, owned by Dagrofa, FoodService Danmark, will close stores across Denmark. This was announced by Dagrofa on 28 April 2017. 1,600 employees will be made redundant while the remaining 800 will be offered jobs in other supermarkets owned by Dagrofa. The discount supermarket was introduced in Denmark in 2008, but heavy competition from other discount supermarkets has caused Dagrofa to close Kiwi and instead focus on other supermarkets under the food service group.
