Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Electronics component manufacturer Enics Raahe has completed employer-employee negotiations in Raahe, Finland resulting in 100 redundancies. The factory in Raahe will in the future only employ 40 people and focus on ODM (original design manufacturing) and design and manufacturing of production testing equipment. EMS (electronics manufacturing services) will in the future be managed within the Enics global network.
The ERM has previously reported on redundancies at Enics's factory in Västerås, Sweden during 2016.
