It has been announced that the Co-op supermarket plans to open 12 new stores across Wales, resulting in the creation of 250 jobs. In addition to the new stores, the retailer is also planning a refit of around 20 other stores as part of a GBP 16 million (€18.7 million) investment programme. The first new store will open in Rossett, near Wrexham, in late April 2017, with the remaining 11 stores planned for locations across Wales throughout the remainder of 2017. The company which places locally sourced products at the centre of its business plan, has been the fastest growing convenience retailer for the previous year.
