Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Fujitsu has agreed with the trade unions an employment adjustment affecting 160 workers which will be implemented in establishments located in different cities (Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia or Málaga). This is a reduction in relation to the initial proposal of the company (191 dismissals). Dismissed workers will receive a severance payment equal to 45 days per year worked up to a maximum of 30 months, above the minimum conditions set by the Spanish legislation. The agreement also foresees an additional income plan addressed to dismissed workers older than 55 years old. The trade union UGT has announced that the agreement must be ratified by the workers through assemblies in the following days.
