European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Sobegi has announced to its works council the departure of 50 of its 280 employees within a year and a half. Some employees will be recycled in Total's technical and scientific centre in Pau, near Lacq. Other employees will go on early retirement. No forced dismissals are foreseen. This announcement comes within the framework of a "social adjustment plan" decided by Total which took control of this company. The company has also decided an investment plan of EUR 30 million by 2020. Sobegi has been in deficit for 4 years and plans a further loss of nearly EUR 8.1 million in 2017.
