Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Elis Côte d'Azur, a subsidiary of Elis, the European leader in rental-maintenance of textile and hygiene article, has announced to recruit about 193 employees for its two sites at Carros (Alpes-Maritimes) by 2017. Elis plans to recruit 180 production operators in charge of laundry processing. The company also announces the recruitment of 10 truck service agents and 3 maintenance technicians. All will be recruited on a permanent employment. The new employees will provide the daily service to customers in the French Riviera, most of which are hotel and restaurant. Elis already employs 600 people on its various sites in the French Riviera, located in the industrial area of Carros. Elis employs 28,000 employees world-wide in 13 countries with a global turnover of €1.51 billion in 2016.
