Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Finnish stainless steel company Outokumpu is to create 100 new jobs in its newly established global business service centre in Vilnius by the end of 2017. The global service centre was officially opened on March 22, 2017. Currently the centre employs around 80 employees. According to the management, some of the supporting operations of the company will be centralised in Vilnius. The centre will provide financial management, IT, credit control, procurement and other services to the company. Outokumpu has its headquarters in Finland and currently employs around 11,000 people worldwide.
