Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American home appliances manufacturer Whirlpool has announced that it will create 130 at its new shared services centre in Łódź by the end of 2017. The centre will provide back office services, especially financial, to company’s units operating in EMEA region. In total, over 200 positions will be created, the company will relocate 80 jobs from the current site to the new office space where the centre will be located in the next few months. The company will provide special training for hired employees. Whirlpool has 70 manufacturing and technology research centres and employs about 93,000 people worldwide.
