Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German producer of automotive components MAHLE Poland, a subsidiary of MAHLE Group, has announced that it will create 100 jobs at its shared services centre in Wrocław in 2017. Eventually, 200 jobs will be created in the unit. The centre will provide IT and other business services to the company’s sites operating in Europe.
The company produces small engine components such as piston systems, cylinder components and valve systems and employs about 76,000 people in over 170 production plants and 15 R&D centres worldwide. MAHLE has been operating in Poland since 1999 and has plants in two locations (Krotoszyn and Ostrów Wielkopolski) employing 5,000 people.
