Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Linet, producer of hospital and nursing beds, has launched the production at a new manufacturing hall near the city of Slaný where it will create up to 150 new jobs, including the first 50 workers whose employment started in December 2016. The firm received a state investment incentive amounting to CZK 360 million (EUR 13.3 million). Linet has been operating its main plant in Želevčice (also near the city of Slaný) since 1990 with roughly 800 staff. Most needed are technical professions such as welders, machine programmers, operators and designers. The maximum production capacity of the new hall will reach 40,000 beds annually.
