Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German lighting manufacturer Osram is planning to create up to 1,000 new jobs in Regensburg within the next years. Most of the new positions will be created in the production and development department. This is mostly due to the fact that demand for infrared parts for smartphones and further new products like infrared and LED elements for automobile assistant systems increased recently.
Osram cut 1,800 and 105 jobs in 2014 due to the decreasing demand in traditional light bulbs.
Osram currently employs about 2,200 employees in Regensburg and about 25,700 worldwide.
