The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Hungarian subsidiary of Norwegian telecommunications multinational Telenor is laying off about 100-120 of its more than 1000 employees in a restructuring plan aiming greater efficiency. Direct consumer relations jobs will not be affected, only technical and back office employees will be downsized. Telenor is accepting voluntary redundancies and promises higher compensation packages than those required by law. The company is also offering material help - smart phones, laptops, mobile internet plans - and trainings in support of those looking for new jobs.
