Description

On 18 January 2017, German national railways company Deutsche Bahn (DB) announced plans to create up to 700 new jobs for IT experts in 2017. DB's human resources manager explained that the new positions will be created for research, development and timetable optimisation.

Deutsche Bahn seeks to become more customer-friendly and therefore developed a new strategic programme. The creation of the new jobs is part of this programme.

Already in 2016, Deutsche Bahn created 1,200 new jobs for train drivers, see (Deutsche Bahn, 2016). Deutsche Bahn and its subsidiaries currently employs around 195,000 employees in Germany and around 300,000 worldwide.
