Description
The German wind mill manufacturer, Siemens Wind Power, announced in January 2017 that 148 employees would be laid off at the factory in Aalborg, Northern Jutland. The reason is not a downturn in demand; on the contrary, orders have been increasing during the last year. "We can do the same now, just with fewer people. In short, it is about streamlining the production", chief of press Mr. Rasmus Windfeld said.
After the mandatory negotiations with the employees' representatives, it was decided that 73 employees would leave the company on 1 February, with the remaining 78 scheduled to leave on 1 April 2017.
