Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Segula technologies, an engineering group working for all of the major industrial sectors (automotive, aerospace, energy, rail, naval, pharmaceutical and oil & gas) has announced a plan to hire 4500 new employees worldwide including 2200 in France, in 2017. The group will mainly recruit engineers and technicians. Half of the employees who will be recruited in France will be young graduates. Segula is looking for 'project managers, pilot project engineers, design engineers, design technicians, general installation project designers, unit directors and business engineers'. The group operates in 26 countries and has about 10,000 employees worldwide. A previous recruitment announcement of 300 employees was recorded in the ERM database in 2011.
