Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Professional services company, Accenture, is creating 300 new jobs in Dublin in 2017. Of the new positions, 100 are in technology and design; they will be based at The Dock location and encompass areas such as artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and the Internet of Things (IoT), while 200 positions will be spread across the company's business units and will primarily be developer and data analytics roles. The jobs expansion is supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.
Accenture already employs 2,200 people in Ireland. Accenture's multidisciplinary research and incubation hub, called The Dock, opened on February 10, 2017.
