Hitachi Rail Europe has announced that it is to create 150 jobs at its new depot at Stoke Gifford, near Bristol. The depot, located near Bristol's Parkway station, will service and maintain the new InterCity Express Trains, which will begin running on the Great Western route later in 2017. Details of the jobs on offer have not been announced, though the company has stated that it wishes to attract people with a wide range of skills and backgrounds. In addition to the announced jobs, Hitachi will also provide training for four apprentices each year.
