Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Japanese manufacturer Bridgestone extended its Tatabánya passenger car tyre plant to 147 000 square metres, doubling its area. 70 percent of the new manufacturing equipment is already installed and operational. The expansion is part of an HUF 85 billion (cca 275 million EURO) investment program started in 2013 with the aim of the factory quadrupling its production by 2020 to 7,2 million units. The Tatabánya plant produced 2 million tyres in 2016. The current 800-strong workforce is expected to rise to 920 by 2020.
