Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The company Global Energy Services (GES), specialized in the construction of facilities and provision of services associated to the production of renewable energy, will implement an employment adjustment plan affecting 453 workers in Spain (69%). The company has a plant located in Erandio (Bizkaia) with 160 workers. According to the trade union ELA, the employment adjustment is a fraud and has been designed by the investors who will buy the company once the dismissals are implemented. The trade unions has announced actions that will start on the 1st of February with a 4 hours strike.
