Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Remade in France, specialising in the recovery and repair of electronic equipment, smartphones and tablets, has announced to create 150 jobs in Poilley (Manche) in 2017. This will increase the number of employees to 450 in 2017. Created in 2014, Remade in France has become the French leader in phone and tablet recycling and is aiming for the number one position in Europe in its sector. Its concept is simple: Remade in France offers smartphones like new, but 15 to 40% cheaper. In 2015, the company multiplied its turnover by three (€73 million). The company is looking for precision welders, specialists in metallurgy, sanding, as well as agents to dismantle and reassemble their products.
