Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The management of the cements manufacturer Ciments Calcia announced the cut of about 40 positions in its headquarters of Guerville (Yvelines) out of a total workforce of about 350 employees. The company, whose Italian parent company Italcementi was bought by the German Heidelbergcement, argues that the cement industry is in a weak economic situation.

According to management, job cuts will result without forced dismissals, with voluntary departures or early retirement. All functions are concerned, from managers to employees and executives.
