Description
Swedish seller and distributor of pharmaceutical goods Mediq Sverige is closing its Lund branch resulting in 37 redundancies. The reasons for the closure is that Mediq Sverige lost their contract with Region Skåne to a competing firm. Competition for the contract was mandatory and the contract was lost through a public procurement process. Mediq Sverige has a total of 260 employees and other branches of the company will be unaffected by the changes in Lund.
The contract was won by Onemed and Onemed will hire new staff in order to handle the increased workload after securing the contract with Region Skåne. Onemed has not indicated how many new employees will be hired.
