The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines), part of the Air France-KLM Group, has announced that it will hire 100 new pilots and 400 cabin crew during the first half of 2017. The new hires are necessary due to the expansion of destinations KLM is flying, the replacement of aircraft, and the cost reductions that took place over the recent years. About a quarter of the new hires will be recruited for KLM's subsidiary for regional flights, KLM Cityhopper. The recruitment of new hires is taking place despite ongoing conflicts with the current air staff, concerning the pension plans for pilots and the reduction in staffing of cabin crew on long-haul flights. KLM Group employs 32,000 employees spread across KLM and its wholly-owned subsidiaries KLM Cityhopper, transavia.com and Martinair.
