Description
Brest pohištvo, a Slovenian manufacturer of furniture founded in 1947 and privately owned since 1995, will go bankrupt. As a consequence, all 130 persons employed in the company, which is based in Cerknica (Notranjsko-kraška region), will lose their job. The difficulties started in 2012 as a result of IKEA's decision to move the production from Brest (less than 40km from Cerknica) to Poland after 15 years of business. After a series of strikes to due unpaid salaries for several months, workers filed for bankruptcy in September this year.
