European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The commercial court of Strasbourg has agreed, on 9 December, the take over of three of the French subsidiaries of the German group Sotralenz (1,100 employees in the EU). The subsidiary Sotralentz Construction is being taken over by the company Sülzle. 92% of the workforce (170 employees) is saved. 14 employees will be dismissed. The subsidiary Sotralenz Packaging is taken over by a consortium of two compagnies, Agriplas-Rikutec. 137 positions are saved on a total of 153 employees. 16 employees will be dismissed. Finally, the main job cuts will occur at the Sotralenz holding subsidiary, where 52 administrative positions will be cut on a total of 60 people. The new owners explains they have already enough administrative staff in their own company. The employees' representatives are satisfied as about 95% of the positions are saved. On 16 January, the Commercial court of Strasbourg has to take new decisions about two other subsidiaries, Sotralentz métal industrie (219 employees) et Secofab (158 employees).
