Description

British Airway has announced to cut 138 out of 218 jobs in Germany. Personnel affected is working at the check-in service on the airports of Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg.

The company wants to outsource these services in spring 2017. A handling company will take over the check-in services.

The United Services Union (ver.di) criticised the outsourcing as the job cuts were not necessary. According to the Union the handling company will just pay the minimum wage to its workers.

British Airways is negotiating with the works' council about a social plan at the moment.
