The Dutch provider of health insurance De Friesland Zorgverzekeraar announced on 1 December 2016 that it will cut 120 out of 700 jobs in the next three years. The reasons for the cuts is the increasing digitalisation of services, which reduces the need of administrative staff, while at the same time, there is a need to reduce costs in order to keep clients' premiums low in the face of increasing health expenditures. Forced redundancies are not ruled out. The company has yet to discuss social redundancy packages with the unions.
