Electricity company E.ON has announced that it is to create 500 new positions for smart meterĀ installers. The roles will be spread across its UK networks. The selection of candidates is supported by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The DWP'sĀ Smart Sector Based Work Academy identifies unemployed individuals who would likely gain benefit from their bespoke training and delivers training to get these candidates work-ready. It is anticipated that around 50 individuals will be selected through this route. Recruitment is currently open and successful candidates are due to begin work in January 2017.
