Description
Fencing company Betafence has confirmed that it has started consultation with employee representatives over a proposed restructure which involves the loss of up to 120 jobs. The manufacturer of wire fencing, which is based in Sheffield, intends to cease manufacture of cable and wire in the UK and relocate to other centres within the group's global business. Betafence is a Belgian owned company which now only operates the Sheffield site in the UK, having closed its Wigan operations in 2009. The proposed reductions are due to be completed by the end of May 2017.
