Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Telecommunications provider Verastar has announced that it is to create 150 new jobs across its three UK offices. The new jobs follow six acquisitions in 2016 which have resulted in greater demand. Verastar specialises in providing a range of services for small businesses offering convenience to their clients by being a single point of contact for multiple services. There is no information on when the new jobs will be filled, other than that the company is expanding in preparation for 2017. The majority of the jobs will be based at the company's headquarters in Manchester, with some positions in Bristol and Hamilton.
