Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Japanese owned company Yaskawa Ristro, a manufacturer of robots based in Ribnica (Jugovzhodna Slovenija region), is going to employ 200 additional workers by the end of 2017. Manfred Stern, the chief executive director of Yaskawa Europe, announced a 25 million euro investment for the construction of a new factory which will meet 80 per cent of the demand for robots in the European markets. The new factory will employ about 200 high-skilled workers, mostly engineers.
