Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Woodworking company Holzindustrie Chanovice is to create 150 new jobs within six months. The Austrian group Pfeifer, who took over the company in August 2016, is to invest roughly EUR 35 million into business development in Chanovice . The company needs workers in wood processing for the production of plates, truck drivers and loaders, cutters and people in handling area. If someone from the current staff will bring a new employee, they get both a recruitment allowance CZK 6 000 (EUR 222).
Holzindustrie Chanovice is the largest employer in the region, with 400 staff members.
Globally, the company employs 1,800 people at 8 sites in 3 countries. Annual group turnover is around EUR 600 million.
