Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German optician chain Fielmann announced to create more than 500 new jobs before the end of 2016. Fielmann seeks to expand its business with about 100 new branches, especially in Southern Germany. In other parts of Germany existing branches will be moved to better locations or stores with more retail space. Moreover, Fielmann is also planning to provide hearing device services at more of its stores.
In 2015 the optician chain had 586 stores in Germany and 17,287 employees, 550 of them hired in 2015.
