Telecommunications company Tele2 has announced plans to cut 225 jobs in Sweden. The redundancies are part of a greater savings scheme within the Tele2 group aiming to cut costs by SEK 1 billion (approximately €100 million) from 2014 until the end of 2018. According to Tele2 Sweden, the savings scheme is not executed due to low profitability but rather in order to ensure favourable conditions for future growth and the development of new products. The positions will be cut through individual deals with employees. 225 employees have been presented with a severance offer. Tele2's whole Swedish organisation will be affected by the internal restructuring.
