Description
French train company Alstom has announced that it is to build a new site in Widnes, Cheshire, which is expected to create 600 jobs. The company has already confirmed to be working on modernising the existing Pendelino trains which operate on the west coast mainline, but the company is also hopeful of winning contracts to supply trains to London Underground and the upcoming high speed service, HS2. The new site in Widnes will also host a training academy when it opens sometime in 2017. As of October 2016, there is no exact information on when either employment at the new site will commence or the new jobs will be created by.
