Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In August 2016, the management of textile manufacturer Katex Kazanlak announced that 205 employees out of a total workforce of 214 will be dismissed as of 20 September 2016. The company has also decided to suspend temporarily its production activities. The management informed that production facilities will be maintained but production will restart in more favourable market conditions.
