Description
The Danish postal service company, Post Danmark, announced on 22 September 2016 that 770 jobs in the company will be cut due to the steady slow down of business in recent years. 250 postal workers, that have already received a dismissal notice, will leave within the next two months and 520 other employees will be made redundant by the end of March 2017. The redundancies encompass 450 employees within mail delivery and at sorting terminals and 70 employees in administration. Furthermore, in May 2016 the Danish Parliament agreed to cancel the duty of Post Danmark to deliver mail on a day-by-day basis and sanctioned an extension of the delivery time of a standard letter to up to five days.
