Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American supplier of automotive components SMP Poland, a subsidiary of SMP, has announced that it will increase its employment capacity by 13% which implies that 65 new jobs will be created at the unit in Białystok. The recruitment process will start in December 2016. New employees will be engaged in the production of ignition coils as the company decided to transfer this segment of its production from the USA to Poland.
SMP was founded in 1919. Currently, the company is a leading producer, distributor and marketer of replacement parts for motor vehicles in the automotive aftermarket industry and has production facilities in seven countries worldwide. SMP Poland has been operating since 2006; the company employs 500 workers.
