Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lasita Maja AS, one of the biggest manufacturer of wooden cabins (sheds, summerhouses, saunas, pavilions etc.) in Estonia is expanding its production volume by building a new factory and employing 50 new employees in addition to their current 250 employees in Southern-Estonia. The expansion gives an opportunity to increase their export volume to Europe, mostly to Great Britain and Italy.
The chairman of the board of the company stated that the expansion of the company is not only an investment to the capability of the company but also an investment to the development of Estonian wood products industry and export capability. Wood products are important export articles in Estonia and Lasita Maja exports nearly 98% of its production.
