Voestalpine, international manufacturer of steel products with headquarters in Linz, Upper-Austria, is opening a new production site creating 70 new jobs.
The company invested €30 million in opening a new production site for laser-welded blanks for car bodies. The new site forms part of the voestalpine Automotive Components Linz Gmbh, a subdivision of the company's metal forming division. With the laser-welded blanks voestalpine secures its position as supplier for automotive manufacturer such as Daimler, BMW and Audi. With this new investment, the city of Linz becomes world leader in the production of laser-welded blanks producing an estimated 20 million of these per year.
