Description
EBay is to close its base in Dundalk, Co Louth by end of June 2017. The closure wil affect up to 150 jobs.
Little detail has been disclosed as to why the base is closing and the decision comes as a surprise considering aBay moved its European headquarters to Dundalk in 2013.
PayPal, which used to be a sister company of eBay, is expanding in the area, however: there is suggestion that some of the eBay employees who will lose their jobs may get positions in PayPal.
EBay has started the formal consultation process on redundancies with its staff.
