Description

The Catalan government has the intention of dismissing 201 public workers from the Justice Administration of Barcelona, affecting different departments and functions such as domestic violence, the ICT office and several sections of the Supreme court of Justice of Catalonia. The Justice Department of the Catalan government justified the measure on the reduction of the workload. Trade unions criticise the measure and stressed that in 2016, the government refused to call for the 503 new jobs that were expected. Moreover, they suggest that the problem is not a lack of work, but the excessive bureaucracy derived from the new office established.
