Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 28 July 2016, the manufacturer of packaging systems Uhlmann announced to create 200 new jobs. 100 of these 200 jobs will be at the company´s headquarter in Laupheim. The jobs will be created due to the increasing number of incoming orders, a strong demand and very good business prospects. The management decided to invest in high quality and therefore the company will expand in Germany. The other 100 jobs will be created worldwide to be close to the company’s clients. Uhlmann’s export rate is 80 percent. In April 2016, the company inaugurated a new hall at its headquarter to be prepared for more growth in the future.
