Description
Reading Borough Council has announced plans to cut 200 jobs as part of it's plans to make further budget cuts in the hopes to save almost £20 million. It is understood that since 2011 the council has already cut 600 positions. The latest cuts were announced at the start of July 2016 and were confirmed following a meeting on July 18 2016. There was opposition to the plans from Liberal Democrat and Green councillors, however the plans were still approved. The timeframe for the job losses has yet to be reported.
