Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish national oil and gas group PGNiG has announced that it will reduce employment by 300 positions at its subsidiary Geofizyka Kraków. The restructuring programme is associated with the consolidation of Geofizyka Kraków with Geofizyka Toruń in 2016. The programme is a part of wider group’s plan to improve organisational and financial effectiveness of the group. Besides dismissals, the group plans to sell some of its real estate assets as well as implement redundancies in other subsidiaries, namely PGNiG (160 redundancies) and Exalo Drilling (900 redundancies).
The group employs over 24,800 people across the country. Geofizyka Kraków specializes in geophysical services.
