Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Customer services company Convergys has plans to create 600 new jobs in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The new workers will be housed in The Rocket building, in the city centre. The company already has a significant presence in the region employing 700 workers at the nearby Quorum business park in Longbenton. It is understood that recruitment is already underway for the new roles and positions are available at all levels of the business. No specific date has been given for when the new centre will be opened though the refit is currently underway and it is expected to be some time in late summer.
